Make a refreshing drink and share the joy of Lemons

I explained in a previous post why lemonade is special to me. Click the link if you want to read more about that journey on – Joy of Lemons. All the healing properties that come from this little fruit and just the color alone gives joy to the world. I’m sharing my world famous lemonade recipe with my followers so it might bring a little happiness into your home.

Summer is a wonderful time of year. Everyday should be like a bite from a lemon. A bit tart, but with the right ingredients can turn into a thirst quenching drink.

OK, Shana’s world famous recipe is a bit ambitious. It might be world famous after this post reaches the world though. Everybody’s got a dream!

Ingredients

5-6 Lemons

1 cup of white sugar

water

Directions

Start by making a simple syrup. In a saucepan add 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup of water. Stir constantly until mixture is clear. This ensures all the sugar is dissolved.

Squeeze 5-6 lemons with a lemon squeezer until you get about 1 cup. You can squeeze more if you want more lemon flavour.

Combine the lemon juice and the simple syrup mixture in a pitcher and add 3-4 cups of water. You should have approximately 7 cups of liquid. I mix everything in a large measuring bowl for easy measurements. You can adjust the amount of water according to taste.

What makes it World Famous Lemonade?

Mint water, Blossom water, Rose water

Here’s what makes my lemonade WORLD FAMOUS. When you come to my house, I serve this in a wine glass with 4 cubes of ice. I add a capful of a secret ingredient that I’ll share with you. Don’t tell anyone! In the ethnic section of the grocery store you can find: Mint water, Blossom water, or Rose water. Depending on my mood I’ll add a capful of one of these. Mint water is quite refreshing, but I like blossom water in my lemonade after supper.
